Food insecurity was a serious issue pre-pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the need. Now more than ever, local food pantries need your support. What can you do?
1) If you are able, volunteer at your local food pantry. I volunteer at the South Portland Food Cupboard most Mondays and Thursdays. I post their weekly signup sheet here (scroll down below this post) and on my Facebook page.
2) Donate supplies and/or money to your local food pantry or to Good Shepherd's statewide program (https://www.gsfb.org/).
3) Check-in with your neighbor & make sure they have enough food and cleaning supplies.
Together, we will get through this. - With gratitude, Sari
The South Portland Food Cupboard serves all of the communities of Cumberland County as well as a number of other food pantries and meal distribution sites. If you are able, please consider volunteering. Social distancing and good hygiene procedures are being adhered to. If you would like to learn more about what it is like to be a volunteer - please give me a call at 207-318-1430 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
